BF6 Gamers Are Convinced: Tasks Are Excessively Difficult
The launch of the much-awaited Battlefield 6 was met with widespread acclaim, notably for its top-tier multiplayer mode. Just on Steam, live player figures reached a high of nearly 750,000. Nevertheless, despite its popularity, many players are expressing frustration over several of the title's toughest challenges, which are necessary to unlock specific weapons.
Users have commenced turning to custom matches made via the custom game tool to achieve these objectives, emphasizing just how demanding these challenges have become.
Grasping Battlefield 6 Objectives
Assignments are Battlefield 6's ongoing multiplayer objectives, in contrast to the regularly refreshed daily and weekly challenges. There are four types of assignments, but although many only reward skins and a few gadgets, completing the weapon assignments is the sole method of getting a dozen out of forty-one main guns found within the game.
Several of these gated guns could shortly find their way on rosters of the top weapons in Battlefield 6.
Gamer Backlash across Reddit
Within Reddit, players are understandably expressing their worries about how challenging and repetitive several of these challenges are. One user highlighted one of the most extreme examples, mandatory for acquiring the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Suppress 300 enemies with LMGs
- Deal 10,000 close-range damage with LMGs
"This mission is so awful and completely out of mind, I want to scream in frustration," is a statement that captures just how annoyingly hard these tasks are.
Suppression in Battlefield is more diminished than before in the series, so it lacks nearly as many benefits in combat as it used to in previous games. It only counts as suppression if you fail to hit several consecutive shots.
At the same time, using an LMG from the hip is wildly inaccurate and only works at point-blank proximity, which is seldom the location you aim to be. The commenter also pointed out the paradox in the SMG challenge, required for the SCW-10, which needs takedowns using ADS, when that challenge would be far more appropriate to hipfire kills, and the other way around.
Another Ridiculously Tough Task
One more community participant highlighted a further incredibly demanding challenge, within the long-range weapon type to obtain the PSR:
- Secure 150 precision takedowns from more than 200 meters away with sniper rifles
This is tough enough by itself, but there's one more key thing to consider: the majority of Battlefield 6 maps do not even allow combat at such a long range.
There exists a reasonable assortment of map sizes, but because there are just nine battlegrounds in the game currently, it means you're limited to playing New Sobek City, a particular valley environment, and possibly a classic map in a best-case scenario if you want to snipe from beyond 200 meters.
The Alternative Method
Nevertheless, a method exists: the custom game tool. This portal feature is a tool that allows you to make custom game modes on the battleground of your choice, including AI opponents. This means you can cheese the system… but it doesn't really seem like the developer's vision.
But when tackling the tasks in a standard match seems counterproductive, since you have to play in such an atypical style that harms both you and your squad, who can fault a player for completing them in a custom game so teammates aren't hindered?
Future Adjustments
It should not be shocking if some of these assignments are made easier in the next few updates, because if they're not, a portion of the user base simply won't get their hands on the restricted guns.
At the moment, the audience continues to voice their opinions on these challenging multiplayer missions, hoping for a fairer gaming experience in coming revisions.
